This past weekend was the opening of Mountain Creek Bike Park, formerly known as Diablo Freeride Park.  Some of the To Wheels riders headed down to check out the park and see what changes had been made.

Here are a few photos of the guys shredding on the Red Bull Drop and Cannon Jump.  If you haven’t been down to check out this place, you need to do so!

Big Thanks to Aaron Cassella for the photos!

BMC Time Machine TM01!

Check out this custom Time Trials bike, built by Mike Aston here at To Wheels!  The bike features a full carbon frame and fork, integrated brakes, carbon Zipp Wheels and Dura-Ace Di2 electronic shifting.  Big thanks have to go out to all of our distributors who helped make this happy for a super stoked customer,  Mike got this built and put together on short notice and it took some real leg work by Sherri and Mike to get all the parts in the shop and bolted on.

For 2013 Sram Grip Shift returns!!!

Grip Shift has been reengineered from the inside out, making it one of SRAM’s most technically advanced shifters ever. Designed for no-holdsbarred, high-performance racing, Grip Shift handles any conditions with ease.

The original SRAM Grip Shift burst onto the scene in 1990, when Greg Herbold used it to win the first ever Downhill World Championship. As XC and DH racing grew in global popularity, elite racers grew to embrace Grip Shift. XC legends John Tomac, Ned Overend and Thomas Frischknecht swore by it. Downhill stars like Anne-Caroline Chausson joined Herbold in adding it to their arsenal. Today, athletes are riding farther and harder than ever before, pushing the limits of component technology. It’s time for the next chapter in Grip Shift history. Designed for SRAM 2X10, the all-new Grip Shift has been reengineered from the inside out. And, in true form, its inaugural race was Jaroslav Kulhavy’s 2011 XC World Championship win. Simply put, it’s one of SRAM’s advanced shifters ever created.

Excited for the return of Grip Shift? Certainly a lot of people have been inquiring about it as trigger shifters have rose to fame in recent years. For 2013, Grip Shift is an option for rider again. More details as we get them.

Meet the Intense Carbine!

Intense Cycles introduces its new carbon fiber mountain bike, the Carbine $2899 cdn.

State of the art engineering and technology, along with the vision and design of Jeff Steber, has culminated in the production of our most alluring and inspired mountain bike design to date. “We combined the best of the best” says Steber, “American design with German engineering.”

Intense employed the services of German firm, SEED Engineering to match its vision with their expertise in carbon-fiber product development and engineering.

The brains behind SEED come from years of experience in carbon fiber manufacturing. “We use all the great technology there is, but especially keep a focus on providing the best product”, says SEED engineer, Thomas Harter.

The outcome is remarkable: a do-it-all trail bike with a dual personality. “We took the original DNA of the famous Tracer VP and re-designed and improved it using carbon fiber construction”, says Steber.

The Carbine is proving to be Intense’s best all-around trail bike. The combination of the properties of carbon fiber and the magic of patented VPP suspension makes the new Carbine a segment leader.
